I am not sure if it is possible from technical perspective. Also, if you look at the story line, most of the TC is like covert operations. After all, it is "Suicide Missions", remember? The IL-2 support will only apply to 2 of 3 levels of "Stalingrad" episode. So, I am not sure if the efforts would be justified, even if it was doable.
If you are interested in WW2 aviation, e-mail me, and I'll send you some cool links. Even though IL-2 was a great plane, it was not the only Russian plane used in the war and, certainly, not the one used by highest scoring Allied aces, which happened to be Russians.
