WALKING WITH GOD

Walking With God

Enoch was such a friend he walked with thee,
and was translated so that death he'd never see.

Abraham and you shared such aura, that you stopped
for discussion before destroying Sodom and Gomorrah.

So confident was his belief that you would provide,
he was willing to sacrifice his son though he was torn
apart inside.

Jacob wrestled with an angel all through the night,
so great was his need to be anointed anew in your sight.

Mary was unwed and told she would bear a child,
she obediently said "according to thy word" in a voice
meek and mild.

Joseph sold as a slave became second in command,
by interpreting dreams as God had planned.

David as a child was chosen to be king,
and he slew the Giant with a stone and a sling.

Moses parted the red sea and brought forth water from a stone,
yet never stepped foot in the land He was shown.

Jephthah made a vow if only he could defeat the enemy,
and his child had to be sacrificed, as hers was the first face
he did see.

Walking with God is an awesome experience for one and all,
Lord may I promptly do thy will when on me you call.

Footsteps

It's been five years since God revealed to me that he had a
plan of salvation and that it was offered for free,
and tho I'd known God since childhood I was blinded to the
fact that God could actually love me.

Not for what I had ever done nor for what I could ever be,
God the Heavenly Father loved me just because I was me.

He didn't expect me to change not even the tiniest bit,
all He asked was for me to believe and my heart to submit.

There was no list of expectations no rules or regulations he
would take care of it all,
the only thing for me to do was surrender and then he was
there for me and answered whenever I would call.

I had thought I had known sorrow and that I'd suffered every
kind of pain,
but since I've been walking with God I've learned that the
heights of these I had yet to attain.

Some of the footsteps of our walk have definitely been up hill,
and some of them were filled with sorrow that can bring tears
to my eyes still.

We have passed through times of riches more then we ever
realized,
then a time of misfortune Where I begged God to increase
my faith with desperate cries.

There were times I'd be singing praises to God as tears of
heart tearing sadness had taken over me,
foot steps through worry and fear as Doctors revealed several
diagnoses that held no hope or happiness that I could see.

But if I could change the walk I've had with God I know I
never would,
because every footstep no matter how unhappy or painful He has
worked for good.

Now if you'd like to go on a walk with God all of your very
own,
just offer your self totally surrendered just as The Word has
shown.

Each footstep is a memory each has a specialness all of it's
own,
I thank God daily that He walked with me and never did I feel
alone

A Walk With God

A walk with God is your latest endeavor, and the Holy Word
assures us it will continue forever.

You learned of the truth and accepted salvation, because
God provided you with a new revelation.

We are incapable of understanding on our own, the truth
must be revealed we must be shown.

Then we are blessed with the gift of belief, even that is
not of ourselves oh what a relief.

Then no man can brag "look what I've done", salvation is
a gift from God's own Son.

From that very moment a walk with God is under way, and even
if you ignore Him God is with you to stay.

There's no promise you'll face no trials, but that it's
God's strength holding you there's no denials.

Never again to stand up on your own, this is a true fact
of which I've been shown.

You may stumble a time or two, but be assured God is right
there to reach out for you.

Sometimes the walk is all uphill, but when the two of you
get there it is such a thrill.

You'll look back at your footsteps one fine day, and notice
there's only one set for parts of the way.

Just then life was too much for you , so the Heavenly Father
carried you as He's promised to do.

Surrender each morning to our Father above, and you will
get through the day due to His love.

Soon we'll all be called home to stay, filled with gratitude
to God for walking beside us all the way.
