Poetry
Rock by J.Porter ( Greyman` )
I am a rock tall and strong but have i withstood the test of time
the sun may shine on me the wind may howl at me
the earth may grumble beneth me
and
the sea may cry apon me but i am a rock tall and proud
time may hate me and the sum may bleach me
the wind may tear at me and the earth may rumble beneth me
the sea may crash apon me but i am a rock standing tall and unforgiving
time
might fear me and the sun might crack me
the wind might shear me and the earth might shake me
the sea might erode me
but i am a rock tall and stout
time
will win over me and the sun will burn me
the wind will shatter me and the earth will crumble me
the sea will wash over me but i was a rock tall and arrogant
and time has shown me that in the end a rock is nothing if not alone
and a rock i am no more
i am an island broad and full of life
and time will smile apon me the sun will warm me
the wind will sing to me the earth will hold me
the sea will comfort me i am an island content to be
